The Annual Communication 

The 2011 Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Free And Accepted Masons of the District of Columbia will convene on Saturday, November 19th, in the Auditorium of the DC Scottish Rite Center. Admission will be strictly by valid dues cards.

Registration for voting members of the Grand Lodge will commence at 8:00 a.m. at the marble foyer and the Grand Lodge will open at 10:00 a.m.

Only Worshipful Masters, Senior and Junior Wardens, or their proxies, as well as Past Masters will be eligible to vote.

Attendees can anticipate a streamlined morning agenda that is much lighter on ceremony and weighted towards getting down to business.

As in the past years, the morning business session will see the presentation of the reports of the Grand Master, Grand Lodge Officers, and the reports requiring Grand Lodge attention and /or action, consideration of the resolutions submitted to the Grand Secretary’s office, presentation of Valentine Reintzel Medals, and introduction of the nominees for the Distinguish Service Award and the Humanitarian and Community Service Award, if such are to be awarded. The Ballot Box will be declared open before lunch.

The afternoon business session will feature the election of Grand Lodge officers, one Grand Lodge Trustee and the recipients of the Distinguished Service Award and Humanitarian and Community Service Award, if such have been nominated in the morning session. Other business will be taken care of while the ballots are counted and tabulated after the closing of the Ballot Box at 2:05 p.m.

Grand Lodge Annual Membership Banquet

The Grand Lodge membership banquet will be held on Friday evening, December 9th at the Renaissance Washington, D.C., the headquarters hotel, Tickets are $75.00 per person ($750.00 for table of 10) for members, families and guests. Reservation forms mailed to each Lodge Secretary on October 14th must be completed and returned to the Grand Secretary’s office by November 19th. Tables will be assigned on first come first served basis and the Banquet tickets will be mailed to the secretaries for distribution.

All brethren who intend to stay at the Renaissance Hotel on Friday and or Saturday night (s) may contact this office for reservation at the discounted group rate for the Grand Lodge, before the cut off date of November 19th.

The Third Communication

The 3rd Communication of the Grand Lodge will convene Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the Lodge Room, at the Scottish Rite Center. The Grand Lodge will be opened at 5:00 p.m., for a brief business session, and at 5:15 p.m. will move from labor to recess to assemble in the Auditorium for the public portion of the program, open to members, family and friends. The program will includes the introduction of the Masonic dignitaries, presentation of the Grand Lodge Distinguished Service Award, farewell message of the outgoing Grand Master and the installation of the incoming Grand Master and Grand Lodge officers. A sumptuous reception will follow in the Refectory.
 
 
The 2011 Grand Lodge Annual Membership Banquet will be held on Friday, December 9th at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel, 999 Ninth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.  Cocktails at 6:30 pm, dinner at 7:30 pm.  Parking is available in the hotel garage.  Black tie for men, and cocktail dress for ladies is requested.

Tables of 10 and individual seats may be purchased now for $75.00 per person by sending a check payable to Grand Lodge of DC to the Office of the Grand Secretary, 5428 MacArthur Blvd., NW, Washington, DC 20016.  Reservations will only be accepted if accompanied by a check, and seating will be assigned on a "first purchased, first choice" basis.
