The Annual DC Grand Lodge & Almas Shrine Golf Tournament took place at Penderbrook Golf Course on Thursday, May 29, 2008. The golf course is located in Fairfax, Virginia just off Route 66 on route 50 north approximately 20 minutes from Washington, D.C. Penderbrook Golf Club is an Ed Ault-designed, par 71 Championship Layout 18 holes course built in 1980. The 6,151 yard layout features rolling fairways and tiered greens and places a higher emphasis on accuracy than distance. This 6,151 yard championship layout has professionally manicured Poa-Bentgrass greens, Rye fairways, and Rye Fescue rough.
There was a hole in one prize on all of the par three’s as well as a "closest to the pin"; and a "longest and straightest drive prize." Assorted challenge contests such as chipping and put to test the participating golfers skills.
There was a lunch from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Following golf, a banquet and prize ceremony accompanied with a dinner took place. All hole sponsors were recognized with a sign placed on one of the tee boxes.
